In an effort to get the nursery ready for Baby Girl Lamons, we moved Kaleb out of his crib and into a big boy bed on January 3rd. Having heard the stories of kids greeting parents at their bedsides at all hours of the night, we were a bit worried about this big transition. We had a spare full-size mattress and my parents got us a set of bed rails for his safety. We also moved the dresser from the guest room into his room and got him a new bookcase.
The kid never ceases to amaze us - he did wonderfully! He loved the idea of his big boy bed and didn't mind letting go of the baby furniture for his baby sister. Of course each night he has to have his 2 special blankies, several books for him to read on his own, the fish aquarium light on, the moon light on and another small lamp on, but he loves the bed! And the best part - not once has he gotten up in the middle of the night and out of bed! Instead, each morning he will yell "Daddy come get me!"
