Thanksgiving!

Whew, I am a bit behind in keeping this blog updated...

We traveled home to JC/Fulton for Thanksgiving this year. Dennis' family was sweet and invited my parents to their family meal so we didn't have to rush between two houses and stuff ourselves silly. Luckily it was a pretty nice day, so family could spill over into the yard - which was helpful since Kaleb preferred being outside playing with his kittens than bothering with all the yummy food!

After dinner, we drove back to St. Louis and were followed shortly thereafter by my parents. Mom and I had scoped out the Black Friday adds and made plans to hit Toys R Us at 4:30 to pickup a train table for Kaleb! What an interesting experience - man are people committed to good deals! We showed up at 4:40 and were probably close to 80th in line. We truly lucked out on the weather so standing outside wasn't bad. We were successful at snagging the train table - I found the golden ticket! We managed to hit Sears and Target before heading home with donuts for the boys at 7:00! You can really get a lot done early in the morning.

We did some other Christmas shopping over the weekend and Kaleb saw Santa! He was a little shy at first, as he is with all strangers, but warmed up quickly. He rattled off his wish list:

garbage truck (yep, pretty sure this is the same as a trash truck, but don't ask Kaleb!)

books

underwear (who didn't get new underwear as a kid!)

cars

moon (why not wish for the moon)

candy

We also celebrated my birthday with my parents. I had recently painted our formal living room and they got us some great slip covers for the furniture that goes really well. I know, who gets slip covers - but seriously, they look like brand new couches!
